Ramsey and St. David's Head

I painted this after a warm and sultry late afternoon on Newgale beach. The sun was hidden behind low cloud and the threat of a summer storm was in the air. Ramsey Island and the St.David’s headland were dark and brooding in the distance, whilst the sea was almost silver in the foreground. I wanted to capture the feeling of the calm before the storm.
