I painted this picture after driving along the road from Scleddau to Mathry one early winters day. The fields had been ploughed for next years crops and the trees had lost their leaves. The pink cottage was a beacon in the gathering dusk. I kept the image in my memory and started the painting the following day. The cottage has since been painted white, but I still see it as pink when I drive past, on my way to St. David’s.
