I have always loved gardens and flowers, I painted flowers for many years. This is a gentle watercolour of pink and red Cosmos flowers, lightly blowing in the summer breeze. After a careful drawing and keenly observed colour study of the flowers and foliage, I added little squares and rectangles of green and grey in the background, to depict the changing light on the leaves in the border.
