Fishguard is built on the edge of the cliffs above Lower Town. I was keen to have the towers of the aptly named Tower Hill in this painting, along with the backs of the houses of Main Street, that drop down the hillside. One often drives up Fishguard Hill with concentration and determination, in order to avoid an awkward hill start on a hairpin bend at the top, before swinging into Main Street, so you don’t always notice what a pretty town it is. I hope I’ve captured some of that here.
