I’ve titled this painting ‘Fisherman’s Cottage Porthclais”, as this beautiful old Welsh cottage sits just above Porthclais Harbour in north Pembrokeshire. However, maybe it was originally built as a farm? I like to think that the inhabitants would’ve taken out a boat to go fishing, given it’s location on the cliff above the sea. I’ve painted the plants growing below the cottage loosely, with the trees at the top tilting inland, due to the consistently blowing wind from the Irish sea.
