There are very few mountains like Carningli. It’s not huge, as mountains go, but it’s location right next to the sea, makes it somehow grander than it otherwise might be. The rocks at the top show the remains of ancient an ancient Celtic hill fort. Presumably living next to the sea in prehistory wasn’t as sort after a location as it is today. The mountain is a constant source of inspiration to draw and paint and this painting is a depiction of the fields and trees in their autumn colours, with the Castle in full view.
