A view of the pretty village of Solva. The car park is often full to bursting with cars in the summer months. I came across a photo from the late 1950’s with a much smaller hard standing in front of the houses and just a couple of old cars and a boat parked on it. So I decided to use that as my starting point, including the figure of a man, attending to his trailered boat. The buildings along the front have changed a bit in the intervening years , but more in terms of details , such as windows and doors. It might not be an entirely accurate picture of Solva, but I hope I’ve captured the atmosphere of the place.
