I didn’t know that this small collection of cottages and farms you see on the way down to Abereiddy was called Portheiddy, until I checked the OS map. It was a cool, clear day and the sheep were grazing in the fields in front of the hamlet. The sea was absolutely calm, and the horizon between water and sky barely definable.
