I enjoy playing with abstract shapes in the studio. This is a study taken from a larger painting, where I experimented with single slabs of colour, weaving them together to describe a summer landscape. I’ve kept the buildings deliberately simple and placed them at angles to each other, to try and convey the sense of travelling along the road, up the valley and towards the mountains beyond.
